Last Friday we celebrated two birthdays Gary & Errol. Many happy returns to both of you !!

Neither of you look a day older than ??? (well you fill it in!)

2 new honorary members – Ashley Robinson OAM & Cllr John Connolly

On Friday 16th we welcome two new honorary members,

Cllr John Connolly – who has been a great supporter of the local community, and for two Rotary Projects in particular, The Surf Show & Shine and the WorkLife Program.

Ashley Robinson OAM General Manager of the Alex Headland Surf Life Saving Club. Ashley is involved in a large number of community projects and Ashley and his staff have been a great friends of the club and made us very welcome at our new home.

We hope that all club members can make this Friday’s breakfast to welcome Ashley & John to our club. Its been over 10 years since Fiona Simpson was welcomed as our other Honorary member.

ROMAC Quiz night on 1st March

There’s still time to register for ROMAC’s trivia quiz night on 1st March.

Worthy Fisher Community leaders award ?

Our local MP. Andrew Wallace is seeking nominations from service clubs for worthy community leaders. If you wish to nominate a person you know, please let a member of the Board know.

Again, check out this link for the categories of awards.

Nominations for Rotary Youth Leadership course ?

While on the subject of worthy people, do you know of a youngster who would benefit from the Rotaries iconic leadership course RYLA? If so, contact our Youth Director Dave Woodrow, and Dave will take it from there.

Looking for external support for Club winter projects

As you know the club has decisions to make about whether to run the Surf Show & Shine this year, and also who is to lead the Solstice Swim Project in 2018, and what sort of Golf Day, if any do we wish to run.

Tanya has put her hand up to lead both Projects and at the moment the club is sounding out stakeholders who may be able to help support these great community projects.

If you wish to be involved in these discussions, please let the President John or any board member know.

Club Storage Project

Congratulations to Bob Thompson who was on site to see the landing of the Clubs Shipping container, which will now be fitted out via a number of working bee’s and become the “home” of our clubs storage. We owe Chris, Denys and Bob a debt of gratitude for keeping the clubs trailer & other miscellaneous items in their garages to date.

We’ll also be presenting our local MP Andrew Wallace with a certificate of appreciation in helping the club secure funding via the “Building local communities” program

Garden project taking shape, big plans for Rotary House

Fantastic new garden image from Bridget McGuigan to help support fund raising for this amazing project

Rotary Conference on Sunshine Coast brochure (20-22nd April)

Here’s the latest Conference brochure…looks fantastic.

Bunnings BBQ in March and now in April

Great work by Trevor, we now have TWO Bunnings BBQ’s, one in late March and one in late May. Stay tuned.

Club Facebook page takes off

Tanya is our Facebook contributor this month (hand pass from Stuart) Here is one photo that popped up…showing the time when the penny dropped with President John….
